Brazil has the most astonishing level of spending on G&S, averaging $727 per person in 1997. This is the highest level of any country, although the Eastern European region is close at $685.

Brazilians spent 2.5 times more on gifts and souvenirs than Mexican air travelers. Compared to other South Americans, he spent 22 percent more!
