As always, I like starting with bottom line first, what tourism from Latin America means to this economy. In 1997, the 13 million Latin American visitors to the U.S. spent more than $18 billion! That spending supported approximately 259,000 U.S. jobs and generated almost $5 billion in taxes.

Latin American spending generated nearly a fourth of the 1million-plus jobs supported by international visitor spending in 1997.
