r The September-December 2001 arrivals data has been revised which includes the calendar year arrivals

(1) Total Arrivals is the sum of Canada, Mexico and all overseas

(2) Overseas is all countries except Canada and Mexico & it has been revised

(3) Canada and Mexico figures are subject to revision. Both figures are based on survey
research from data obtained from their respective governments and therefore rounded to the nearest thousand.

(4) Mexico air data is based upon the Immigration & Naturalization Service I-94 form

Note of Overseas arrival revisions
The 2001 monthly arrivals for September - December 2001 has been revised, as will the 2002 arrivals data.
The reason for the revisions was to ensure the 2001 and 2002 arrivals data are comparable to past arrivals data.
Shortly after September 11, 2001 the Immigration & Naturalization Service implemented a policy that required all passengers
to and through (transit passengers) the U.S. to complete an I-94 arrivals form.
The transit passengers have been eliminated from the arrival counts thus ensuring the arrivals data bases are comparable
