| r The September-December 2001 arrivals data has
been revised which includes the calendar year arrivals |
| |
| (1) Total Arrivals is the sum of Canada, Mexico
and all overseas |
| |
| (2) Overseas is all countries except Canada and
Mexico & it has been revised |
| |
| (3) Canada and Mexico figures are subject to revision.
Both figures are based on survey |
| research from data obtained from their respective
governments and therefore rounded to the nearest thousand. |
| |
| (4) Mexico air data is based upon the Immigration
& Naturalization Service I-94 form |
| |
| Note of Overseas arrival revisions |
| The 2001 monthly arrivals for September
- December 2001 has been revised, as will the 2002 arrivals data. |
| The reason for the revisions was to ensure the
2001 and 2002 arrivals data are comparable to past arrivals data.
|
| Shortly after September 11, 2001 the Immigration
& Naturalization Service implemented a policy that required all passengers
|
| to and through (transit passengers) the U.S. to
complete an I-94 arrivals form. |
| The transit passengers have been eliminated from
the arrival counts thus ensuring the arrivals data bases are comparable |
