Reviewing the North American countries and the overseas regional
arrivals clearly shows the degree of loss of Canadian visitors in
1998 compared to 1997, down 11%. This decrease was almost
completely offset by the gain in our second largest international
market, Mexico, with a 10% increase to top the 9 million mark in
1998. Both of these markets are extremely sensitive to the
exchange rates between our countries.
