Interested in the Irish Travel Market? Participate in Holiday
World 2004!
Ireland was the 16th largest overseas travel market to the United States
in 2002, recording 260,000 visitors. In 2002, Ireland outperformed all
but 2 of the top 15 overseas markets to the U.S. Irish overseas travel
increased 10 percent in 2002, and in a survey conducted at last year’s
Holiday World, the U.S. was rated the most desirable destination for Irish
tourists, and the top of Irish travelers’ wish list.
According to the Office of Travel & Tourism Industry’s newest
international travel forecast, the Irish market to the U.S. will grow
steadily through 2007, surpassing the 310,000 visitor mark. From 2004
until 2007, arrivals from Ireland will grow between 6 and 8 percent each
year.
Participate in Holiday World 2004
The U.S. Commercial Service invites you to participate in Ireland's premier
travel and tourism trade show. The Holiday World 2004 U.S. Catalog Exhibit
is a great way for you to promote your destination to the Irish market.
This year’s Holiday World takes place from January 22 - 25. This
event is held every January in Dublin and attracts over 50,000 consumers
and over 3,500 trade executives. This year, your destination will also
be represented at Holiday World’s second stop in County Cork, a
three-day show for both travel trade and consumers. Cost of participation
is $250.
The U.S. Catalog Exhibit within Holiday World is sponsored by the U.S.
Commercial Service and the Visit USA Committee of Ireland. Your literature
will be displayed in a booth staffed by a dedicated representative from
the U.S. Commercial Service. This year, in addition to the exhibition
in Dublin, your literature will be included at a second Holiday World
exhibit in County Cork.
