In an effort to meet industry demand for more timely release of
international visitor data the U.S. Department of Commerce, through the
Tourism Industries office released a series of analyses and nearly 70
different summary tables today.
"This is the earliest release of this detailed data by the Department of
Commerce. It's timeliness is especially useful in order to provide the
U.S. industry with the most current snap shot of the state of our tourism
exports prior to Pow Wow, the largest showcase of American tourism product
organized by the Travel Industry Association of America" said Leslie R.
Doggett.
In addition to the latest statistics, TI also highlighted several core
Initiatives intended to help expand U.S. tourism industry exports.
In honor of Tourism Week TI has modified the web site to provide easy
access to the newly released data and Initiatives. Now viewers can just
"click" directly to all of the analyses and tables without having to
scroll down through the web site.
