Theme: Lights Camera, Action: Spotlight on Tourism in the New Millennium
The Annual TTRA conference to be held June 11-14, 2000 in Burbank,
California, USA.
Deadline for session proposals: December 3, 1999
Tourism Industries (TI) is pleased to be working with the Travel and
Tourism Research Association (TTRA) to announce the call for papers,
sessions, and posters. TI will be submitting its own proposal for
workshop sessions at this conference. We would like to encourage other
industry researchers, marketers, and practitioners to consider developing
a proposal for their own session. Please visit the TTRA web site for
additional information on this conference and to learn how to submit a
proposal for a workshop. The TTRA web site address is:
http://www.ttra.com. Click on the call for papers and conference areas
for additional information on this conference.
The research workshop sessions will focus on issues designed to help
travel research producers and users respond to the unique challenges of an
increasingly competitive tourism industry. Presentation abstracts and
proposals by both academics and practitioners are welcome in the following
two categories:
* Niche marketing research ¯ coastal tourism, mountain tourism, city
tourism, etc*.
* Sustainable tourism research
* Recent travel research findings
* Internet research for travel and tourism
* Environmental or social impacts of tourism
* Methods and findings in economic impacts of tourism
* Unique & common travel research methods, approaches, or uses
* Miscellaneous travel research topics
All abstracts for research papers and posters will be blind reviewed.
Awards will be given for the best research paper (judged from the
abstract) and best poster (judged at the conference) and will be presented
to the recipients at the 2000 TTRA conference during the Annual Awards
Luncheon. Again, please visit the TTRA web site.
The staff at Tourism Industries hopes to see you at this upcoming
conference in 2000.
